The WIA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to advancing the wireless industry by encouraging and promoting education, research, and training programs. In addition to offering support for charitable organizations whose missions align with the needs of the wireless infrastructure industry, the WIA Foundation supports efforts to raise awareness about careers in the wireless and broadband industries and activities to enable a strong and diverse workforce necessary to achieve WIA’s mission of achieving connectivity everywhere. The Foundation’s board members govern the organization’s efforts and initiatives.
I’m writing on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Wireless Infrastructure Association Foundation to express our sincere appreciation for your ongoing support. As a member of the wireless industry for over 20 years, I am honored to serve as the Chair of the WIA Foundation. Our mission and goals at the WIA Foundation are deeply meaningful to me, and I’m excited to collaborate with you on opportunities that align with our shared objectives.
In an industry dedicated to connecting people, the WIA Foundation shares a similar mission: to bring more individuals, especially those from underrepresented groups, into our community and help them build successful careers. We are committed to advancing the wireless industry by raising awareness of the opportunities it offers and providing financial support to organizations that nurture both current and future team members and leaders. This includes programs focused on outreach, training, and education to develop the workforce of tomorrow.
Our efforts to enhance diversity and inclusion are crucial for ensuring our industry reflects the diverse nation we proudly connect. Our programs aim to improve representation among women, people of color, veterans, and individuals with disabilities. For example, we are honored to support the WIA’s Women’s Wireless Leadership Forum (WWLF) Telecom Trailblazers initiative, in partnership with IGNITE Worldwide, which connects girls with STEM opportunities in schools nationwide. Additionally, we are exploring ways to support future entrepreneurs and innovators through initiatives that address industry challenges and enhance our operations for 5G and beyond.
If you are reading this, you have likely benefited from the encouragement, mentorship, and camaraderie that the wireless infrastructure industry generously offers, as I have. By raising awareness and promoting this thriving industry to as many people as possible, we can continue this collegial spirit while strengthening our communities and companies. I hope you and your organization will consider joining us in this endeavor.
Sincerely,
Amy Jo Samuel
