FCC Commissioner Trusty Receives WIA Foundation Wireless Leadership Award
ARLINGTON, VA – Today, the Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) Foundation announced FCC Commissioner Olivia Trusty as recipient of the Foundation’s Wireless Leadership Award.
Commissioner Trusty received the award during the annual Wireless Women’s Leadership Luncheon in Washington, D.C., hosted by the WIA Foundation in partnership with the Women’s Wireless Leadership Forum (WWLF), powered by WIA.
“I’m honored to receive this recognition from the WIA Foundation,” said Commissioner Trusty. “The future of connectivity depends on a strong workforce and expanding opportunity for leaders to innovate and build the networks of tomorrow. I’m proud to support policies that invest in people, strengthen our workforce, and help the next generation of wireless leaders shape the future of connectivity everywhere.”
The WIA Foundation established the Wireless Leadership Awards to recognize leaders in government and the wireless infrastructure industry who embody the organization’s mission to advance the industry, including support for a strong wireless workforce necessary to achieve WIA’s mission of connectivity everywhere.
“Commissioner Trusty has consistently been a champion for wireless connectivity, and we are honored to present her with the 2026 Wireless Leadership Award,” said Patrick Halley, President and CEO, WIA. “We look forward to working with her as she continues to prioritize expanding universal connectivity, advancing next‑generation wireless technologies, strengthening national security, and modernizing infrastructure—priorities that are accelerating network deployment and growing a strong, future‑ready wireless workforce.”
FCC Commissioner Olivia Trusty was nominated by President Trump and confirmed in June 2025. She previously served on the staff of the Senate Armed Services Committee and the Senate Commerce Committee, as a Legislative Assistant to Sen. Roger Wicker, on the staff of the House Energy & Commerce Committee and as a Legislative Assistant to Rep. Bob Latta. She began her career in the private sector.
